Our History
McKenzie Dixon is a well-established law firm which has successfully managed client’s legal affairs for over 30 years. Peter Charles McKenzie was the founder of the firm. From 1986 to 1989, Mr McKenzie practiced under the name and style of Peter McKenzie & Co. In 1989, Mr McKenzie and Mr Kenneth Dixon formed a partnership and Peter McKenzie & Co became known as McKenzie Dixon Attorneys. Mr McKenzie, however, sadly passed away in 2007.
The firm was then run under the partnership of Mr Dixon and Mr Dudley Stilwell. Fatima Rasool Salajee joined the firm in 2007 to head up the Conveyancing and Estates Department.
Mr Dixon emigrated to Dubai in May 2008. From 2008 to June 2012, the firm consisted of two young dynamic partners, Mr Stilwell and Fatima. In July 2012, Mr Stilwell left McKenzie Dixon Attorneys to join another law firm. The firm is being run by Fatima as a Sole Proprietorship since July 2012.
We are a 100% black female owned business and a Level One Contributor to B-BBEE.

Fatima Salajee has 25 years of experience in the legal fraternity. She obtained her B Proc and LLB degrees from the University of KwaZulu Natal in 1996 and 1997 respectively. She commenced practice in 1998 and was admitted as an Attorney in 1999. She qualified as a Conveyancer and a Notary Public shortly thereafter. She enjoys dealing with the various aspects of a conveyancing practice. Fatima previously worked at a large Law Firm in Musgrave, Durban for over 8 years and then joined McKenzie Dixon Attorneys in 2007. She has also obtained certificate in Islamic Law from the University of KwaZulu Natal, after completing the course, in 2008. Fatima believes that building personal and lasting relationships with clients is of paramount importance. She therefore always makes the time and the effort to interact with each client personally. Fatima specialises in Conveyancing, Property law, Notarial work, Commercial law and Administration of deceased estates.
Fatima is supported by highly trained professional staff, administration staff and support staff, who have a positive working environment and realise the needs of their clients and the importance of providing dedicated, friendly and efficient service to clients. Our dynamic and highly motivated staff believe that every client should be treated with every respect.
Our legal team are continuously trained in the various changes in our law. Most of our staff members hold accreditations and certifications in numerous areas of our South African law.
